First semester freshmen cannot participate in the Sunrise Program
New Member Education: The Sunrise Program
Purpose: The Sunrise Program is a values-based new member education program designed to provide inducted members with the skills, wisdom, and perspective needed to not only be a strong Sigma woman, but also a leader within her community. The program is a 6-week program, divided into three phases with each phase focusing on a few founding pillars of the organization, known as the "Ten Rays of SYZterhood".
Learning Outcomes:

Have an understanding of the history, values, beliefs, and symbols of the organization.

Understand the structure of Sigma Psi Zeta on a local, regional, and national level.

Demonstrate knowledge of leadership methods, goal-setting, time management and interpersonal skills.

Develop meaningful connections with members in the intake class, members of the chapter, and a network of members across the nation.

Share in the commitment of empowering women by recognizing the challenges we face, actively supporting the trajectory of women, and denouncing any form of violence against women.
